The Disease of Dying If You Don’t Spend Money

Faced with a reality where values are overturned, what choices should the individual and society make? It is a horrifyingly provocative yet excellent premise. To think this is the start of a series, I am very much looking forward to seeing what conflicts and contradictions it will go on to examine. That said, I wonder whether it was really necessary to put a lengthy explanation in the mouth of a first-person narrator for a setting that could just as well have unfolded naturally through the narrative. After all, the fun of this kind of setup lies in having it revealed piece by piece.
