Buying and Using the V9 Bone Conduction Headphones
I bought the V9 on AliExpress. It’s my first pair of bone conduction headphones.
Here are the pros and cons I noticed after using it for 2 days.
Pros
- It doesn’t block your ears.
- It’s cheap(?). I bought it for $32.00, and as of 2019/04/18 it’s $24.
- The packaging is neat.
- It stays securely on your temples, even during vigorous exercise.
- It doesn’t hurt or feel uncomfortable even after wearing it for a long time.
Cons
- A lot of sound leaks out. So much that you can hear it well even without pressing the headphones against your head. Someone even asked me if I had bought a speaker.
- The sound quality isn’t good.
- Compared to the EarPods and the Sony SBH70, the sound quality is poor.
- Compared to the Sony SmartBand Talk SWR30, the sound quality is slightly worse.
- The play/pause button intermittently doesn’t work.
- It catches on glasses, which is uncomfortable.
- It gets sweaty.
- You can’t lean back on a chair that has a headrest or neck rest.
Other
- Continuous playback time is about 5 hours, and charging takes about 2 hours.
- The AliExpress link URL says it supports 6 hours of continuous playback.
- The manual included with the product says it supports 5 hours of continuous playback.

Overall
It’s usable for the price. But you shouldn’t expect too much.
