Wartime Japanese Propaganda Seen Through Photographs and Paintings
Reading the Japanese history of this era, you cannot help but turn anti-war. Did so many people really have to die just to be taken in by such lies? What could the young men who believed their deaths served a great cause ever receive in return for the lives they threw away? As later generations, all we can do is gaze at the losers of this era and let out a sigh. And yet it leaves a bitter taste when you realize that, though it is simply not shown, the truth was probably not so very different for the victors either.
