less than 1 minute read

There was a college student who dreamed of becoming a film screenwriter. But all of his efforts and attempts fell apart on the verge of success. Even though he was young, his disappointment was no small thing. Then one day, someone said this to him:

Ed advised me to stay in the video game world and build a career there. He told me that I had a remarkable talent and ability that only a tiny number of people possess: the ability to take a game concept I had come up with myself and carry it all the way from design to implementation. It felt like he was talking about someone other than me, so I just nodded politely. (p74)

Up until then, game development had been nothing more than a brief pastime to him. But the moment he realized he was one of a kind, everything changed. He went on to create one of the greatest games in history.
