less than 1 minute read

A journey of about a month across South America begins in Brazil and continues through Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, and Peru. The landscapes and ruins of the South American continent revealed along this counterclockwise route are nothing short of magnificent. From Iguazu Falls, the Andes mountains and glaciers, to the Uyuni desert and the megaliths of Machu Picchu, none can be overlooked. But if that were all, it would be no more than an ordinary tourist guidebook. The vastness of Patagonia at the southern edge of the world, and the brief but vivid, on-the-ground depiction of vanished civilizations and the wealth gap that is their legacy, are the highlights of this book. Perhaps that is the quintessential impression a Korean can feel on the South American continent.
